3d Printed Surface Textures

This experiment explores designing “for the machine” by using Grasshopper-generated parametric textures to work with, rather than against, 3D printing’s layer limitations. Macro-scale clay patterns create a tactile surface, while micro-scale plastic textures help conceal layer lines. By adjusting the scale of the texture, the design both enhances aesthetics and minimizes visible defects in the final prints.
